When someone finds your Instagram for the first time, what do they see?
Usually? Your grid.More specifically, your first 9 posts.
This is your brand’s digital storefront. A glance-able brand experience that either hooks someone in… or makes them bounce.
At Spatial, we work with beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands that want to stop the scroll and start building trust. Here's how to plan your first 9 posts to set the tone, spark connection, and start strong.
🧠 Before You Post: Think Strategy First
Ask yourself:
Who are you trying to attract?
What should someone feel when they land on your page?
What’s your brand’s tone? Elevated? Playful? Edgy?
Once you have that, you’re ready to start mapping out the grid.
📲 The First 9 Posts Blueprint
Here’s a formula you can follow (feel free to reorder as needed):
1. Hero Brand Post→ Your logo, tagline, or a visual statement that introduces who you are.🎯 Think: “Welcome to [brand name]—a brand for [your audience].”
2. Meet the Founder→ A human face builds connection.🎯 Bonus points for sharing your why or story.
3. Product or Service Highlight #1→ Show what you offer with clean visuals or mockups.🎯 Focus on benefits and vibes, not just features.
4. Aesthetic / Moodboard Vibe→ This sets the tone and introduces color, texture, and mood.🎯 Pull directly from your branding.
5. Brand Values or Belief Statement→ What do you stand for? What are you not?🎯 This attracts aligned followers and repels the wrong ones (which is good).
6. Product or Service Highlight #2→ Show another offering or use case.🎯 This can be a client result, testimonial, or transformation.
7. Behind-the-Scenes or BTS of Process→ Pull the curtain back. Audiences love seeing the “how.”🎯 Example: Sketches, studio shots, packing orders, etc.
8. UGC, Testimonial, or Mood-Reinforcing Post→ Show social proof or amplify your lifestyle vibe.🎯 Even mock reviews or styled shoots work if you're still pre-launch.
9. Soft Call to Action→ Invite people to DM, comment, or sign up for something.🎯 End your grid with an open door—make it easy to connect.
⚡️ Bonus Tips
Use consistent colors, fonts, and lighting to create visual flow
Avoid posting all 9 in one day—spread them out over 2 weeks
Pin your top 3 so your best-performing posts stay front and center
